1/48 aircraft models
This page shares pictures of the 1/48 model planes I built. This is the scale in which I build most of my models, so this is where most of my learning has happened. I will try to share some of the lessons I learned (which hopefully may save you some trouble if you decide to build the same kits).
I was always interested in scale models, and like many boys in the 1970's I used to build Revell kits to play with. But I really started on this hobby after my son gave me a kit of the Tamiya 1/350 Bismarck for Christmas in 2017. That seemed overwhelmingly complex, so before I started it I tried to develop some basic skills using (apparently, to me, at the time) simpler kits. The list below is in chronological order, according to when I finished construction (I can only deal with one model at a time...).
